      Hello,

I installed Kali Pi through etcher on my SD Card. I then went on to power up my RPI and install the tft driver for my screen, which is Kedei 3.5″, by choosing “wave35c” during Universal Pi-TFT Setup.

The problem is, after booting the tft screen doesn’t work and when I plug the HDMI, the bootup commands stop at some point and gets stuck.

Did you ever have this issue ? Maybe I can directly install the driver from Kedei (instead of the Universal Pi-TFT setup) but I don’t know if it’s possible.

      Thanks

      Kent

      Hi Kent,

you can use the new “kalipi-tft-config”, which has replaced the pi-tft-setup tool and comes with all new images. I configured a Keidei last week with it and it worked like a charm.
The Pi can only output to either tft or hdmi and switches to tft midway through the booting process. That’s when you see the hdmi output freeze.

      Hope that helps,

      Hello,

I used the new kalipi-tft-config and chose Kedei35 but after the manual reboot I still get a white screen.

Also tried installing the image http://en.kedei.net/raspberry/v6_1/LCD_show_v6_1_3.tar.gz but still the same en result.

Do you have any idea why it wouldn’t work ?

      Thanks a lot

      Kent

Never mind, managed to make it work :

      1- copy the drive (http://en.kedei.net/raspberry/v6_1/LCD_show_v6_1_3.tar.gz) to raspberry pi;
2- Decompression file tar -xzvf LCD_show.tar.gz
3- Jump into the file cd LCD-show
4- update system sudo apt-get update
      5- Install driver sudo ./LCD35_v

How do you switch back to hdmi? Because when I take over the screen with vnc I get a very low resolution (same as the LCD) or is there another way to get high resolution on VNC?

Sorry I didn’t try to switch back to HDMI.
