    I am getting a similar problem with VNC Server continually crashing.

    I can get VNC Server started using the Kali-Pi TFT button:

    root@kali-pi:~# netstat -tupln
    Active Internet connections (only servers)
    Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name
    tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:5901            0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      1374/Xtigervnc
    tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:21              0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      510/pure-ftpd (SERV
    tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:22              0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      666/sshd
    tcp6       0      0 :::5901                 :::*                    LISTEN      1374/Xtigervnc
    tcp6       0      0 :::21                   :::*                    LISTEN      510/pure-ftpd (SERV
    tcp6       0      0 :::22                   :::*                    LISTEN      666/sshd
    udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:68              0.0.0.0:*                           557/dhclient
    udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:68              0.0.0.0:*                           503/dhclient

    I then confirmed the service was visible from my computer which was on the same network:

    $ nmap 192.168.178.132
    Starting Nmap 7.70 ( https://nmap.org ) at 2019-06-25 05:37 EDT
    Nmap scan report for kali-pi.fritz.box (192.168.178.132)
    Host is up (0.0035s latency).
    Not shown: 992 filtered ports
    PORT     STATE SERVICE
    21/tcp   open  ftp
    22/tcp   open  ssh
    80/tcp   open  http
    110/tcp  open  pop3

    5901/tcp open  vnc-1

    Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 4.61 seconds

    Repeating ‘netstat’ shows VNC Server has now crashed either by itself or in response to the ‘nmap’ scan:

    root@kali-pi:~# netstat -tupln
    Active Internet connections (only servers)
    Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name
    tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:21              0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      510/pure-ftpd (SERV
    tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:22              0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      666/sshd
    tcp6       0      0 :::21                   :::*                    LISTEN      510/pure-ftpd (SERV
    tcp6       0      0 :::22                   :::*                    LISTEN      666/sshd
    udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:68              0.0.0.0:*                           557/dhclient
    udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:68              0.0.0.0:*                           503/dhclient

    The log file ‘.vnc/kali-pi\:1.log’ shows:
